Many times we are one of the last wedding vendors to get booked, sad I know. Dresses, venues and cakes all seem to take precedent when hiring professionals to help with the BIG DAY. I have come to just except this… the thing I find interesting is that Wedding Planners are often overlooked completely.
Most of our clients seem to think that they can handle all the details and planning, of the ceremony and reception… not to mention all the other details that go into planning a success wedding day. For some, its the perceived expense of hiring a professional wedding planner that keeps them finding a planner. The task often lands in the hands of a friend or relative, who is not a professional wedding planner.
Not hiring professionals, who you have thoroughly vetted, is one of the biggest mis-steps I see people make. Don’t leave one of the biggest and most expensive events of your life up to non-pros and/or people who have little experience planning weddings. Professional wedding planners can make a huge differences in the success of your wedding… trust me!
Some of the first questions to ask:
- How many weddings have you planned?
- How many within the last six months?
- How long have you been planning weddings in the area?
- Do you have references from your most recent weddings?
Its important that the wedding planner has the right credentials and their personality suits yours… don’t hire anyone that you don’t like. There are several great wedding plannings that work in Lynchburg, one that we highly recommend checking out is Amanda Gray with Ashley Baber Weddings. She can be reached at 434-509-9092 or email her: amandagray (AT) ashleybaberweddings (DOT) com
