With just about perfect weather, Smith Mountain Lake was the scene for the fabulous wedding and reception of Tara and Jeffrey. Mid-day temperatures reached 85 degrees and it was mostly sunny… with a slight breeze which was very nice. The couple had a very intimate wedding ceremony inside their beautiful lake house, with reception to follow on the dock.
The dock was huge and a great spot for a wedding reception. Catering provided by The Neighbors Place restaurant, cake by Coffey Cakes and photographer Ally Powell of Sam Stroud Photography… this had all the makings of a great reception, for sure. As guest arrived, some by boat, they were met with a good mixture of music and cocktails. After people had a chance to start enjoying the heavy h’orderves, I was given the single to start the party… which is my favorite part of any reception.
The reception ended with the happy couple making their exit by boat with fireworks overhead. A very cool exit, I might add…
